Submission Guidelines
We are now accepting pieces related to hiking, biking, kayaking, or any other outdoor adventures that you would like to share.
Beyond that, we have all wandered in our own individual wilderness. We would love to hear about yours, either literal or metaphorical, especially if your story will motivate or inspire others.
Guidelines
Please send something that is between 500-2,000 words. More than that and you better be Stephen King or James Patterson.
Make it personal and honest. If you want to fictionalize that is ok, if you are presenting a truth that you think others will relate to.
Send 2-6 of your own quality photos to illustrate your piece. If you don’t and we decide to publish your piece, we will try to supply photos, but they would be so much better coming from you. (We will only use your photos for your piece or to promote your piece on social media which at this point includes Facebook and Instagram.)
Please provide a SHORT BIO about yourself at the top of your piece. If you have a blog or other media that you would like to reference, include it and we will add it to your byline.
And of course, we have to say, and we mean, we have the right to refuse any article or photo that doesn’t correspond to our standards or values.
We reserve the right to edit your piece, but if we do, we will collaborate with you on any changes other than obvious typos .
